About our panelists:

Jason Murrell, founder of MurFin Group and Chair of Cyber Security Certification Australia (CSCAU). Specialising in strategic PR and cyber security advisory, Jason focuses on integrating cutting-edge practices into everyday business resilience. He also chairs the Australian Cyber Network, leading innovative initiatives that align with Australia’s 2030 cyber strategy, and is a key advocate for the responsible use of AI to address emerging digital risks.

John Ellis, Global Head of Security Trust and Influence at QBE, brings over 28 years of cybersecurity expertise. With 14 years in Asia working for international banks and high-tech firms, John excels at navigating complex threat landscapes. As the former CISO for Australia’s largest health insurer, he led a major security transformation during heightened cyber incidents, reducing risks and enhancing digital initiatives. Holding a Master’s in Cyber Security, Strategy, and Diplomacy from UNSW, John is a recognised authority on cyber geopolitics, advising on business strategy and resilience amid growing geopolitical tensions.
